A: Yes! Bay Jammer has been going on continuously since its first year in 1949. From the best information we have while other great Scouting events could be older they are not held annually which Bay Jammer is, as it has been for over 75 years.

Q: What type of units can attend Bay Jammer?

A: Venture Scouts, Sea Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Girl Scouts of the USA.

Q: What is the participation age for Bay Jammer?

A: Bay Jammer follows Venturing age guidelines for participation. Youth participants must be 14 years old (13 years of age and completed 8th grade) to 20.

Q: Where can I register for Bay Jammer?

A: Bay Jammer registration is offered at www.baylakesbsa.org/bayjammer All registration this year must be done online.

Q: A Scout is Helpful? So can I?

A: Yes, and YES! In Bay Jammer headquarters you will find good turn sign ups. Please feel free to sign up for these important tasks. Still looking for something to do? Check with one of our event staff and they might be able to use a hand!

Q: Does our unit have to do ALL the events?

A: Short answer no. In Bay Jammer headquarters you will find event sign ups, feel free to pick and choose. Longer answer is still no, but life is about experiences and trying new things. No unit or single person is going to be forced to do anything they don’t want to, but we challenge you throughout your weekend at Bay Jammer to try things and make memories to last a lifetime!

Q: FOOD?

A: We provide one meal Saturday for dinner, and offer a pizza party during the dance. All other meals are on your own. There are many affordable options nearby and the local businesses support your patronage. You may also choose to pack food for lunches etc. Just remember a fed Scout is a happy Scout! And make sure you stay hydrated!

Q: Where do I sleep?

A: Bay Jammer is very fortunate to have the local support of their schools, churches, and city! Bay Jammer offers arrangements at schools or churches to stay. We also offer the traditional camping on the beach at Tourist park. The cities of Menominee and Marinette also offer a variety of camping options and hotel options for you.

Q: Where do I shower?

A: Some of the school locations have locker rooms with showers in them and those may be used if you are staying in one of those locations.
